Advertisement touts Syrup of Figs as a pure laxative improving health by cleansing the system and aiding kidneys liver and bowels. It claims pleasant taste and wide medical approval, offered in 50 cent and 81 cent bottles by California Fig Syrup Company with the product name on every package.
Tickets sold and baggage cheered through to western points. Travelers insurance tickets acknowledged. J A Fennano acts as agent for the service.
Time and train direction details show the post office operating from 8 A M to 5 30 P M and from 7 P M to close. The note lists eastbound and westbound lines with the service window hours and the 248 Goins Weel reference.
The Silver party of Nevada adopts a platform at Carson City on September 4 1894 urging free coinage of silver at 16 to 1, denouncing gold oppression, demanding government ownership of telegraphs and subsidized railroads, labor reforms, law enforcement, and opposition to lotteries and certain amnesty provisions. The document also supports public schools, direct election of senators, immigration limits, and endorses party leaders Stewart Jones and Newlands.
The books of registration for the election of State County and Township officers on November 6 are now open and will stay open on legal days from 10 am to 6 pm until October 1 and from October 10 to October 21, 1884 from 7 pm to 9 pm Extra hours added before closing at 6 pm Naturalized citizens must present papers at registration. The Humboldt County Board of Commissioners met on July 28 and defined three districts under a Nevada act of February 21 1493. District 1 includes Willow Point Golconda Clover Valley Paradise McDermit Sebet Creek King’s River Bartlett Creek precincts. District 2 covers Winnemucca precinct. District 3 comprises Mill City Dun Glen Kennedy Humboldt House Rye Patch Unionville Lovelock precincts.
