A well known Virginia City man who traveled to Reno in a tailor made suit and derby hat was financially stranded on arrival. He bivouacked by the Truckee river where he was stripped of his clothes by beggars, returning to town in torn overalls and discarded items the next morning.
The Bonanza reports Tonopah citizens and miners subscribed to $60 000 of stock in the Tonopah Mining Company last week. Demand was high and $50 000 more could have been sold if available. President John B. Anderson promised the stock and has kept his word. Stock now trades at $3 1/2 per share in Philadelphia and will be listed on the Salt Lake Stock Exchange within ten days.

A vintage ad promotes Laxative Bromo Quinine tablets claiming a cure for colds in one day. It promises refund of money if it fails and bears E. W. Grove's signature on each box, priced at 25 cents.
An old advertisement touts Sherman’s Headache Cure promising relief from headache and neuralgia for 25 cents per box sold by Brown Bros Norris Silver in North Stratford New Hampshire. It also features a testimonial claiming One Minute Cough Cure rapidly eased an incurable cough and cured the user.
A period style advertisement promises Lane's Tea cleanses the bowels and aids digestion and blood purity with a 25c and 60c price. It notes for sale by Brown Gentlemen and claims Hansen's gloves never rip and wear poorly. agents E Rein hart Co Inc present a full line of gloves suited for railroad workers.
Ovaritis, the inflammation of the ovary, presents as dull throbbing pain with tenderness and heat low in the side and occasional shooting pains. Early signs include swelling in the painful region. The text cites Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound as a treatment with patient testimonials, urging women to seek advice from Mrs. Pinkham in Lynn Massachusetts.
A Portland letter from September 3 1900 praises Lane's Tea for clearing skin and white complexion after two weeks of use.
