Villion analyzes Vaselone as a solution of stearone and margarone in neutral mineral oil. Stearone is made by distilling stearin with lime while margarone comes from beefsuet. Vaseline comprises 15 parts margarone and 5 parts stearone per 100 parts oil, producing a fatty, white, odorless, neutral product resistant to acids.
The advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure laxative improving health by cleansing the system and easing constipation. It touts kidney, liver, and bowel action without weakening them, claims broad medical approval, and notes bottles priced 50 cents and 1 dollar sold by druggists, manufactured only by the California Fig Syrup Co with brand name on each package.

It condemns lawless presidential actions, supports public schools, opposes lotteries, seeks direct US senator election, immigration limits, and endorsement of Senators Stewart and Jones and Representative Newlands.
