An elderly advertisement extols Dr Pierce's Favorite Prescription as the sure path to safer motherhood and a robust child. It claims the mother’s health largely shapes the baby, urges use before and after birth, and cites Mrs. F. B. Cannings of Saint Louis as a testimonial.
The advertisement touts Chamberlain's Eye and Skin Ointment to relieve itching and smarting from eczema and other skin diseases and claims permanent cures for bad cases. It also promotes use for itching piles sore nipples chapped hands frost bites and crusty sore eyes priced 25 cents a box. Also recommends Dr Cadys Condition Powders as a tonic and vermifuge for horses in bad condition.
