Santa Fe wreck near Emporia in head on collision
Dispatch from Emporia Kansas details a catastrophic Santa Fe collision three miles east of town at about 7 30 p m on Wednesday night. Ten or eleven killed and many injured as the fast mail eastbound and the Mexico and California express westbound collided head on of three engines. Mr Bryan aided the injured and provided water and cushions to the wounded. The wreck stemmed from a misrouted order not delivered to Lang causing the California express to take the siding while the fast mail proceeded to Emporia.
