Democrats and Silver Men Fusion in Virginia City
Complete fusion was effected by the Democratic and Silver party conventions in Virginia City Nevada. Francis G. Newlands was nominated for Congress by both parties along with A. L. Fitzgerald for Supreme Judge and W. W. Booher as Short Term Regent. Delegates from each county debated fusion plans while organizing sessions ran through the day and night.

The Filet Knob group at West Camp seven miles west of Ely in White Pine county has been bonded to Senator W. A. Clark's agents. A monster celebration is planned in Virginia City on the 20th to mark the advent of cheap power on the Comstock. Work requirements for US patents demand $500 of labor per claim or per grouped locations. Wire-up of Curry mill begins for electric power, with fifty incandescent lights in the tunnel. Leon M. Hall, consulting engineer for the Comstock Pumping Association, arrived to finalize wiring. motors for C and C Shafts and others are in transit or due tomorrow. Professor Maynard, famed mining expert, has collected seven tons of samples and backs the mines as among the greatest bodies he has seen, while denying Mackay negotiations and noting the Blairs will operate the mines themselves.
