Lawyer M Labori argued Panizzardi and Schwarzkoppen’s testimony was crucial and contended their deaths would not have occurred if Cernuschi had not been summoned. Counsel suggested delaying proceedings to secure replies to essential questions.

Cornish of New York and Winslow B Pierce of Boston to succeed Northern Pacific interests. B. H Harriman of New York was named chairman and A. L Mobler was re elected president. The company will likely retain Union Pacific autonomy with closer ties to Union Pacific Oregon Short Line and O R N.
Prominent club figures competed in the United States golf championship at Onwentsia in July. Holabird, the favorite, trailed Niesant and faced a tough finish at the 160th hole. Young Egan played steady to finish in 43, but Holabird ultimately won with a total of 92 after rounds in 43 and 46.

The 1800 fiscal year assessment roll by County Assessor Guthrie shows a larger real estate total and a smaller personal property total, due to stock movements last fall and winter. Overall county assessment reaches 3,611,441 with real estate up 87,368 over 1898 and personal property down 76,790. combined increase over prior year about 80, age.
This morning the sixty seed formerly owned by W L Akin at the corner of Second and Akin streets was transferred to J C Hayden and filed for record with County Recorder Hill. Akin sells to move from this State to Illinois in the near future.
John Taylor of Bloody Canyon plans to ship a carload of sixteen tons of high grade antimony from his Bloody Canyon mine near Mill City to San Francisco. Ore extracted by Mr. Taylor is described as high grade and ready for shipment, with delivery anticipated by the owner.
