Winnemucca will be the dispatching point for two sets of train dispatchers with six dispatchers and a chief to be stationed there. W. W. A. McGovern is promoted to trainmaster in charge of the Carlin Wadsworth line, likely becoming division superintendent in time. The changes will boost local business and attract more families as offices are enlarged and crews relocated.

Mail Runs Changed to Split Central Pacific Clerks
On and after the 22d Instant the Central Pacific will be divided into two mail runs one Ogden to Reno and the other Reno to San Francisco The change aims to shorten the San Francisco Ogden run but clerks oppose the plan. Anthony McCormick is arrested for giving whisky to an Indian and faces a preliminary examination. Prof Henry will host a social dance at Armory hall on September 6 with music and $1 admission.
