The Second Judicial District Court Humboldt County Nevada issues a summons to Emma L Hain defendant in a divorce action filed by Emma J Hain. The plaintiff seeks dissolution of marriage for failure to provide necessaries of life and custody of Edna Serena Hain born about age five. Defendant must answer within ten days if served in county, twenty days if served outside, or default will be entered. The action also requests custody of the minor child. The notice is dated July 20, 1897.
Assessment No. 5 of three cents per share levied on NUMA Mining Company stock in San Francisco. Unpaid shares become delinquent October 16, 1897 and will be sold November 9, 1897 to cover due amounts plus costs. Secretary RK. M. Duperu announces payment at the office in San Francisco.

The complaint seeks to foreclose a mortgage dated June 2, 1897, to recover $200 attorney fees, costs, and the note's principal and interest with sale of the described premises to satisfy the debt. Defendants must answer within ten days after service, or default will be entered.

The District Court of the Second Judicial District of Nevada announces the appointment of Eliza Smeller as administratrix of the estate of Tsalah Smeller, deceased, in Humboldt County. The appointment was confirmed June 22, 1807, with H Warren serving as attorney for the administratrix, dated July 8, 1897.
