An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pleasant, gentle laxative from the California Fig Syrup Co. It claims cleansing effects on kidneys liver and bowels, relief from colds headaches and fevers, and broad medical acceptance. Bottles priced 50 cents and 1 dollar, with insistence on authentic brand.
Tickets sold and baggage checked through to all eastern points. Travelers insurance tickets issued. J. A. Ferraro, Agent.
A schedule note states operations run from 8 a.m. to 5 30 a.m. The text then asks for the missing P M hours starting at 6 p.m. to fill the gap in the evening period.
A Washington dispatch reports a governor a rich lobbyist and two congressmen gambling from Thursday to Saturday at a swell hotel where winnings totaled $20,000. The piece scolds rulers who gamble and urges voters to elect honest men to hold office.

Registration books for the general election to be held November 6th are open daily on legal days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until October 10th 1894 and from October 10th to October 21st 1894 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Registrar for Precinct No 8 in Humboldt County Nevada. Naturalized citizens must present papers when registering. Unionville, July 1st, 18__.
