In this vintage notice the Silver State outlines subscription terms and rates. It lists offices and agents in San Francisco Sacramento and Maine, detailing who may collect and receipt for subscriptions and where to send payments.
Henry Longfellow Townsend appears in court in ragged clothes with mud on his hair and boots tied. The judge calls the charge vagrancy but after Townsend delivers a rambling defense the court suspends sentence and orders him released. He is told to percolate out the doors.
Nevada Humboldt District Court orders all interested parties to appear December 20 1880 at 10 am in Winnemucca to show cause why administrator Charles A Nichols should be granted an order to sell part of the decedent's real estate and to finalize payment for lands under contract with the State. Publication to follow in the county's newspaper.
