Masked gang tried to rob Lake Shore train No 2 between wire and Conneaut at 1 AM. They boarded at Ashtabula and struck the express car at Dock Junction but fled after alarm, with a sheriff’s posse scouring the woods and no reported loot found.
In Frankfort Kentucky on November 16 Taylor supporters quietly survey legislators about voting to seat Goebel if the State Election Board voids Knox Johnson or Pulaski counties and the Nelson vote for W. P. Taylor. They report several Democrats yet to decide against seating Goebel.
A seven story building at 146 State street in downtown Chicago burned early today causing an estimated loss of 150000 dollars and injuring about a score of firemen and spectators. An explosion blew out the building front as flames and debris were hurled in all directions.
A Dexter Missouri minister Rev. Jesse Moore living six miles south of Dexter was found dead in bed with a fatal head wound. An adult son in the same room did not hear a noise as authorities examine the case. Moore was a well known Methodist preacher in southwest Missouri.
