A piano tuner on this side of the Sierra Nevada announces delays reaching Winnemucca until November 8th or 10th due to high tuning demand. He offers trade-ins on old pianos or organs, plans to carry new pianos at favorable prices, and invites orders at the Lafayette Hotel.
Chicago dispatch notes that Western cattlemen report a sharp five year decline in beef cattle due to shrinking public grazing lands and rising demand. They warn Congress will hear of a looming shortage and rising beef prices, threatening the food supply if not addressed.
The Reno area shows extensive mining with 200 workers. Six-mile canyon tailings sold at 25 cents per ton. In Lyon County Como millwork expands with 750 feet more pipe on order.
