Miniature warships built by Bangor man impress at sea
George B. Moody of Bangor has created a world class fleet of five foot wooden warships. He drafts plans on blueprints, builds hulls from pine and spruce with cedar parts, prints them photographically, and tests each model in Penobscot bay. The ships feature watertight compartments brass guns paddle launches and full combat fittings. Moody’s fleet is seaworthy and all vessels are tried in rough water before acceptance. The Rangor survived a heavy blow near Islesboro last summer to reach shore safely.
