An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure laxative that cleanses the system without weakening organs. It claims benefits for kidneys liver and bowels, relieves colds headaches and fevers, and notes it comes in 50c and 81 bottles. The California Fig Syrup Co manufactures it and prints its name on every package.

The Panama Canal proposal raised fears that Pacific water would flood much of North America. Surveys show Atlantic water is higher, with only six and a half feet difference between the eastern and western sides of the isthmus. A closing line promotes Simmons Liver Regulator as a tonic and laxative.
An advertisement touts Hood's Sarsaparilla as superior due to extensive brain work and care in preparation. It claims blood purification cures dyspepsia headaches biliousness and promotes overall health using vegetable ingredients. Simmons Liver Regulator is also endorsed for indigestion and dyspepsia prevention.
Humboldt County presents its quarterly financial report ending March 31 1894 to the Humboldt County Board of Commissioners. It lists cash in treasury at start and end of quarter 1408 60 23020 and 519 73 with multiple fund disbursements and apportioned balances across School State Road Indigent Sick Contingent and various county and state school funds.
The report lists outstanding bonds and warrants including six percent court house redemption warrants totaling 10,640 91 and seven percent redemption warrants at 1196. Indigent, contingent, road, and salary funds show separate outstanding amounts. Total indebtedness section for School District No. 7 references school house bonds and related obligations.
