A Carson exchange reports one of the Concord stage coaches from the Placerville to Sacramento route, owned by Chris Angberg, in Benton's stable and in good condition after forty years. These coaches cost 1600 to 2000 dollars, with a San Francisco trip priced at 250 dollars and a guaranteed speed of ten miles per hour drawn by six horses. The exchange notes a master pot of old versus modern craft and a quip about paying 1600 dollars for a better stage. Dentistry by Dr. H. A. April output from Cover d Alene mines reached 14000 tons of concentrates while Montana Central strike settlement enables Boston and Montana Company to ship 2500 tons of ore daily to Great Falls. Various mining updates include claims on the White Rock bulls run, a Tuscarora visit by D A Herron, a remanded appeal in Plumb vs Tuscarora Chief, a Wyoming gold camp near Red Lodge set for growth, and promising ore assays and road-building near Nevada and California mines.
