Mines and Mining News From Western Nevada and Surrounding Areas

Ore shipments from Eureka county totaled 142 tons and White Pine 50 tons last week. A six foot ore vein with 33 percent copper was found in the Nelson L Group at Jackson Creek. Rich ore at Mohawk mine in Gold Hill Wyoming yields high values. assays show 900 dollars per ton. The Sprague Martin mill worked Whiteacre Meissner ore for 25 dollars per ton with bullion worth 15 to 20 dollars per ounce. The Dixie at Salt Lake City ships copper bullion valued about 15 thousand dollars to Chicago refinery. The Butte Lode Mining Co in Rand district California milled 45 tons yielding about 40 dollars per ton. Johnny Mining Co at State Line reports steady ore averaging 20 dollars per ton as mill is expanded. Kinkead mill plant inspection by Mr Hellman. plans to bring Kinkead mills to South Africa after war. Gould and Curry mill at Virginia City to be modern crushing plant fed by mine cars. Pocahontas copper lens near Merced produces two tons daily and 250 tons mined since discovery with ore carrying high gold values. Atlin district Washington reports a free milling quartz ledge extending 700 to 800 feet with indentified ore grading 700 to 800 dollars per ton and some samples up to 75 percent. A survey was requested in a litigated property.
