A health advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure, pleasant tasting laxative that cleanses the system without weakening organs. It claims benefits for kidneys, liver, and bowels, relieves colds headaches and fevers, and cites universal satisfaction and medical approval. The California Fig Syrup Co markets 50 cent and 1 dollar bottles with its name on the package.
