The Blackfoot Idaho News reports rising mining fever as many men rush to lavas near the buttes to file claims. New richer ground is said to lie in the lavas with black sand carrying gold copper and silver ripe for extraction by simple smelting. Spring could bring a Grove City style mining boom and a Klondike rush at the door.
An old advertisement touts Mrs Winslow’s Soothing Syrup for teething children claiming immediate relief from crying and pain. It markets a cure for diarrhoea stomach issues wind colic and gum inflammation with a pleasant taste and a 25 cent price. Discounts and distribution through druggists nationwide are noted along with a recommendation to request the product by name. It also promotes DeWitt’s Little Early Risers for bilious digestion by Brown Bros.
George M. Watt of South Gardiner Maine praises Chamberlain's Cough Remedy as effective where others failed. He reports relief from cough cold chills and grip after one bottle and congratulates the manufacturers. For sale by Brown Bros Druggists.
