An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative improving digestion and cleansing the system. It claims to relieve colds headaches fevers and constipation by acting on kidneys liver and bowels without weakening them. Sold by druggists in 50 cent and 81 cent bottles, manufactured only by the California Fig Syrup Co with its name on every package.
Incomplete fare and transit note indicates through carriage of baggage to eastern points. Travel details are fragmentary with a reference to Travelers Insurance and agent J A Thane.
A patchwork of brief items: Columbus notes on attar of roses supply, hair collectors, boot fitting times, Hetty Green tax dodging in Hempstead, birth and death rates, czarist pardons, and local ads for box elder trees, diamonds, watches, jewelry, and a legal notice for A. A. Hibbard.
The Humboldt County Board invites proposals to purchase 52000 of its interest bearing bonds issued to fund county debt. Bonds mature 3 to 18 years from issue, bear 5 percent interest, redeemable after 3 years, bids must include at least 2 percent of face value in cash. Bids due April 1 at Winnemucca, A F Trousdale chairman.
