Big Mining Transfer Seals $1,999,993 Deal Near Granite Creek
A deed filed with County Recorder Hill shows Colossus Development Company transferring Emerald, Klondyke, Boa Constrictor Mountain Granite, Turinese Genoa, Blue, La Grande, Comet and Sunside mining claims near Granite Creek in the Osgood range to Granite Creek Smelting and Refining Company. The June 16 1999 document names Morton Lindley president A C Woodward vice president and A W King secretary, with $2 000 in revenue stamps. The sale increases Uncle Sam assets by $2 000 as the mines were largely bonded from local owners by Lindley and King who have operated in the district for about three years.
