A marketing notice extols Syrup of Figs as a gentle laxative that relieves many illnesses by cleansing the system without weakening organs. It urges buyers to ensure the genuineness of the California Fig Syrup Co. product and suggests consulting physicians for actual disease while praising the remedy for general health.
The notice promotes Chamberlain's Eye Ointment for eczema tetter salt rheum and other skin troubles claiming permanent cures even for itching piles sore hands frost bites and chronic sore eyes. It also advertises Dr Cady's Condition Powders as a tonic blood purifier and vermifuge priced 25 cents per box or 2 for a dollar, available at druggists.
All subscribers are urged to read this law and avoid trouble. It warns that failure to notify the publisher of discontinuance or moving without informing the publisher makes the subscriber liable for arrears and could be treated as fraud. It notes arrest risks for nonpayment and offers legal blanks for sale.
