The famous steer Jumbo aged four and measuring 12 feet long was killed in Wichita Kansas yesterday. It had 15 inch horns and six feet breadth. Mr Payne plans to mount the animal while its hide remains good. Two gray horses from Blakeslee ranch Humboldt river carry brands and canary finds. Information leading to their return may be rewarded by this paper or J I Lasley Humboldt House Nevada.
The administratrix of James Ritchie’s estate will sell at public auction in Paradise Humboldt County Nevada on Tuesday July 5 1897 at 3 oclock PM at the front door of J B Case store on Main Street. The sale includes Lots 6 in Block H and Lot 6 in Block 1 plus several described tracts in Paradise with improvements such as Central Hotel Pony Saloon and Bauman's stable. Terms are cash with ten percent due sale day and balance after District Court confirmation.
Board levied a five cent per share assessment (No 4) on all stock payable in gold coin. Delinquent shares as of July 3 1897 will be sold at public auction to cover the assessment and costs. Secretary BR M Dupre signs at San Francisco office, Market Street.
Notice is given that Randall Sage has filed final proof for his homestead application No. 470 in Humboldt County Nevada. Proof will be made before the County Clerk at Winnemucca on Wednesday June 9 1897. Witnesses: Bird Parker Robert Wilkinson Clarence Sage and Guss McAnineh all from McDermitt Nevada. District Court of the Second Judicial District Humboldt County Nevada calls all heirs and interested persons to appear May 17 1897 at 10 a m in Winnemucca Courtroom to show cause why a distribution order should not be made of the residue of Samuel Strieff deceased’s estate according to law. County Clerk notes dated April 20 1897.
