John Catlow Dead in Oregon Ranch Country
Adam Adrian arrived from Trout Creek Oregon with news of John Catlow's death on the ith instant at his home near Lit tle Cottonwood creek by the Sisson ranch. He was about 50 years old, born in England, once a leading cattle owner in southeastern Oregon. Once part owner of Trout Creek ranch, his fortune fell after speculation and reverses. He lived with his wife and two grown sons on a small adjoining ranch. He suffered a paralysis stroke about three years ago and had been in feeble health for years. He was buried the following Sunday.

Caboose Turned Over During Sidetrack Switching
Early yesterday the Conductor Leonard crew attempted to switch a caboose on a sidetrack with the engine on another track. The chain between the parked car and engine tightened as the tracks widened, tipping the caboose onto its side before it could detach. Wadsworth wrecking crew arrived in the afternoon and righted the car with minor damage to paint and a few broken windows.

U. S. Official Arrested in Nevada Game Law Case
Sardha Summerfield United States District Attorney for Nevada was arrested in Reno on a game law violation charge. She pleaded guilty and demanded a jury trial. A counter complaint was sworn charging Game Warden Merklinger with petty larceny.

Wrecking of Engine 1417 Near Carlin Injures Engineer J F Canady
Engine 1417 wrecked one half mile west of Carlin yesterday at a sharp curve on an embankment. Engineer J F Canady was badly injured with a broken left arm and head cuts while Fireman John Linville escaped with bruises. The locomotive overturned and was reduced to boiler and drivers. Two track walkers aided the response, Dr. Hood treated Canady at Elko, and Mrs. Canady and Mrs. Linville traveled to Carlin for through service to Ogden. The train was delayed three hours due to the wreck.
