Wisconsin Town Ravaged by Devastating Tornado

New Richland Wisconsin on June 13 reports describe a violent cyclone that wiped out large parts of the village of Whabitanta. An estimated 150 houses destroyed on the north and 100 on the east side with hundreds feared dead or injured. Relief crews from Stillwater Chippewa Falls and St Paul aided rescue efforts as fires raged and stores exploded.

Wind swept New Richmond on June 1 leaving massive ruin and many dead. The list names numerous victims from 68 year old JB Mickey to a 14 year old boy and many unidentifieds, with churches and streets described as scenes of devastation.
