Bliss Dunphy water suit decision favors plaintiff
Judge Fitzgerald ruled in the long running Bliss versus Dunphy Grayson and Anderson case that Bliss holds a prior right to 14 000 inches of water. Dams and obstructions in the Humboldt river may be maintained to not interfere with that right while other defendants face costs for unnecessary evidence. The decision endorses prior appropriation over riparian claims and dismisses the rest of the suit against remaining defendants.
