An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative improving health by cleansing the system and easing constipation. It claims action on kidneys liver and bowels without weakening them, noting acceptance by patients and doctors. Sold by druggists in 50 cent and 1 dollar bottles, manufactured only by the California Fig Syrup Co. with its name on every package.
Tickets sold and baggage checked through to all routes. Travelers insurance tickets also sold. J A Pierrano named as agent.
Report describes firing a cannon ball through two electric screens recording passage times via wired clocks. By noting the time difference the distance between screens can be calculated. Also includes advertisements for Hood’s Sarsaparilla and local goods with various prices.
An old advertisement touts Mrs Winslow's Soothing Syrup for teething children. It claims immediate relief from crying and pain, plus curing diarrhea, regulating stomachs, and easing inflammation. The syrup is priced at twenty five cents a bottle and sold by druggists worldwide.
