Train Derailment Near Granview Kills and Injures Dozens

Kansas City dispatch reports a derailment of train No. 4 on the Kansas City Pittsburg and Gulf line two miles south of Granview Missouri during a heavy rain. Forty eight passengers were seriously injured, several fatally, with victims from Missouri Arkansas Kansas and Michigan. Rescue, hospital transfer, and an investigation followed as rails were spread by a damaged roadbed. The wreck occurred on a curve in woods, and fire and dangerous exit conditions complicated evacuation. The scene drew rapid relief efforts and updates through the morning.
