Schurman to Tour Southern Islands During Philippine Trip

Professor Schurman of the United States Philippine Commission sails from Manila on the gunboat Bennington for a three week visit to the Southern Islands. Cadet Fred M Pearce Served From Arkansas in 1893

Washington reports cadet Fred M Pearce of Arkansas entered the Military Academy in June 1893 and graduated shortly after. He joined the Sixth Artillery as a second lieutenant in March 1898. His father N B Pearce was a 1888 academy graduate who resigned to become a Confederate brigadier general in the Civil War.
