The Boer commander in chief General Botha has asked President Kruger for peace. Utah marks Brigham Young's 100th birth anniversary in observances statewide. Surveying Work in Humboldt Under Government Plan

Col. H. B. Maxson returns from Los Angeles and organizes summer surveying forces. About twenty five university students, graduates and professors will work along the proposed railroad in Lincoln and Humboldt counties with supervision by Prof. Henry Thurrell and A. W. Keddie for E. W. Taylor. Salaries are good and enable students to continue studies next year.
