The advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative that cleanses the system and dispels fevers while promoting comfort and health. It claims the remedy acts on kidneys, liver, and bowels without weakening them and notes available prices and that only California Fig Syrup Co. manufactures it with its name on every package.
Tickets sold and baggage cheered through to all eastern points. Travelers Insurance tickets also sold. J A Ferraro, Agent. Postoffice regulations list train Nos 1:35 and 4 2:45 Going West. Office hours show from 6 PM to 7 PM.
The Medical Fortnightly notes a remarkably tiny newborn in a Connecticut town. A Swedish couple, the father a timber cutter weighing about 190 pounds and the mother about 160, welcome a male infant weighing eight ounces at birth. The physician believes the child will survive, and observers remark its minuscule size. A ring worn by the mother slipped over the baby's foot up to the knee, illustrating the tiny scale.
Sheriff Hadley announces public auction on July 26 in Winnemucca for the Caledonia Gold Mining Company interest in the Caledonia mill site and surrounding land in Humboldt County.
