The California Nevada Borax Company releases figures showing post Civil War output rising from 12 tons in 1865 to 970000 pounds in 1873 and a total Nevada yield of 69918985 pounds, with prices falling from 46 to 7 cents per pound. The firm controls 3000 acres in Churchill County with refining works near Lovelock and plans shipping three railroad cars monthly.

Lowest Responsible Bidder Sought for Winnemucca Water Project

Bids will be received for a trench four miles long from the lower to the upper reservoir at Winnemucca Water and Light Company. Trench dimensions are two feet by two and a half feet, with completion in thirty days. Separate or joint contracts for four miles of pipe hauling from the Southern Pacific depot and along the trench line.
