An advertisement extols Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative that cleanses the system, relieves colds headaches and fevers, and cures constipation by acting gently on the kidneys liver and bowels. It emphasizes acceptance taste and medical approval and warns buyers to avoid substitutes. It notes bottles sell for 50c and 1 and that California Fig Syrup Co manufactures the product.
Wickets sold and baggage passed through to eastern points. Travelers insurance tickets sold. 1:35.
Reports from Cape Horn and Palisade detail near miss incidents on the railroad as a fireman failed on the Summit run and a drawhead broke near Colfax causing last cars to roll back. A brakeman urged brakes while passengers helped. Non union workers are being hired locally.
