Troops Arrive at Wells With Expectation of Westward Move
A train carrying 50 to 100 A. S. soldiers arrived at Wells yesterday morning led by Superintendent Knapp of the Salt Lake division. Rumors of culverts being destroyed between Wells and Carlin circulated, with word that troops reached Carlin and moved west toward Winnemucca, possibly arriving this morning. A Sacramento troop train was reported but deemed unfounded. Later reports say the Carlin detachment left this morning and is due to arrive here this afternoon.
