A Piute Indian named Pete was brought to town by two Fort Mc Dermit soldiers and jailed in irons. He allegedly broke into Lieutenant Huttons quarters and tried to murder him. Corporal Josaph Burk of Colonel Kernaris Cavalry guarded him and chained him to the car seat to prevent escape, and he was taken to Fort Alcatraz.
