An advertisement touts Chamberlain's Lotion for skin ailments including itching and sores, claiming instant relief and several cures. It references eye and skin conditions, itching piles, sore nipples, chapped hands, and frostbite, recommending Dr Cady's Condition Powders as a tonic and purifier.
Reuters report describes a combined land and sea attack as begun in the campaign. Secretary Alger notes no new dispatches by late morning while Secretary Long warns the battle will be terrible but victory certain.
