An advertisement touts Syrup of Figs as a pleasant tasting laxative that cleanses the system, relieves colds headaches and fevers, and aids the kidneys liver and bowels. It promotes health benefits and notes the California Fig Syrup Co manufactures the product sold in 50 cent and one dollar bottles by druggists.
Travelers Insurance tickets marked sold with J A Ferraro as agent. A Morton House anecdote notes a fish in New Zealand and a Kentucky mule burning popcorn causing a misread snow fantasy. The tale closes with a humor line about a man claiming the strange event.
Humboldt County Nevada Auditor J J Hill submits the quarterly finances for the quarter ending December 31 1894. The report lists cash in treasury on Sept 20 1894 accrued interest bonds and balances apportioned to funds including Bond Redemption Interest Sinking General Road State Indigent Sick Contingent and others with amounts shown for each fund. County Treasurer P Largerva certifies the figures match the office books.
