The text markets Syrup of Figs as a superior laxative improving health and comfort. It claims benefits for cleansing the system, easing colds fevers headaches and constipation, and emphasizes its kidney liver and bowel action without weakening them. Manufactured by the California Fig Syrup Co and sold in 50c and 1 bottles by druggists.
Fragmentary notes mention travel tickets and insurance for eastern destinations. The scrawled lines reference travelers, tickets, and a possible schedule but contain no clear names, dates, or destinations to confirm specifics.
The treasury will this month disburse $600000 in interest on the second issue of $50,000,000 bonds issued last fall. A like amount quarterly payment on the first issue is also due this month. The issue of paying principal in gold remains unresolved.
The company ordered a fine assortment of masks to be sold at reduced prices. Costumes for the occasion will be home made. No gentleman may appear in female costume nor lady in male costume. No unmasked person may dance until those in costume have removed their masks.
By order of the committee gentlemen spectators are admitted on one dollar tickets and will not be allowed to dance without paying the ticket price.
