A persuasive advertisement claims Syrup of Figs improves health and comfort by cleansing the system and aiding kidneys, liver, and bowels. It touts universal satisfaction, medical approval, and a pure formula free from objections, sold by druggists in 50 cent and 1 dollar bottles, manufactured by the California Fig Syrup Co.

Helena resident George Henderson recounts a 1873 encounter in which Buffalo Bill Cody, serving as a government scout, confronted a major Cheyenne chief near Crook’s forces in Nebraska.
