Mr. George H. Cooper of British Columbia claims a new mutation system, the acimal, based on eights rather than tens. It eliminates fractions since any division yields whole units, with infinite subdivision possible for height. Cooper argues the term decimal implies fractions, making the acimal a worthy topic for serious study.
Advertisements claim deafness from inflammation of the Eustachian tube can only be cured by constitutional remedies. Catarrh is blamed for nine of ten cases and Hall's Catarrh Cure and F. J. Cheney are promoted with a promise of $100 for uncured cases. Also promotes Kemp's Balsam for throat and lungs and Crown Bros. sells La Gr2 bottles.
An old advertisement argues women place importance on jewels and health, urging fortification against coughs and bronchial troubles with Dr. Boschee's German Syrup. It claims to arrest consumption in early stages and heal lungs, noting Brown Bros. druggists sell Green's remedies and Almanac.
