San Francisco Storm Delivers Severe Short Lived Fury

A sharp electrical storm battered San Francisco just after 10 p m lasting under half an hour but causing wide scale damage. High winds toppled fences lampposts and signs while a gas retort at the gas and electric plant ignited after a lightning strike. A tall pine blocked traffic and windows shattered around City Hall vicinity. A streetcar with schoolchildren was frightened by a lightning bolt. no serious injuries reported. Reports say the storm ran along the coast from northern to central California.
