Mr J A Harvey will be in Winnequeca for four or five days to tune repair or exchange pianos and organs. Prices and terms are claimed to be the lowest on the coast with all goods guaranteed. Leave orders at the Lafayette Hotel.
The Geological Survey investigates hydraulic giant dam building in the West. Water guided by the stream deposits gravel on the dam outer slope and fine material in the center creating a central clay wall. Southern California and Texas dams were built rapidly and cheaply using this underwater deposition method.

An advertisement touts Chamberlain's Pain Balm as quickly relieving pain from cuts bruises burns and injuries claiming faster healing with no scar if not very severe It also says it cures rheumatism sprains swellings and lameness Sold by Brown Bros Druggists.
A Portland letter praises Lane's Tea for clearing facial pimples after two weeks of use. Also cited is a Duchess county resident endorsing Chamberlain's Cough Remedy as effective for croup in children and recommends keeping a bottle ready for hoarseness or cough. Both notices note Brown Bros. as local sellers.
An old paper ad touts Lane's Tea as a laxative and digestive aid, Mrs Winslow's Soothing Syrup for teething with claims of immediate relief, and Kemp's Balsam for throat and lungs. It urges purchase from Brown Bros with prices 25c, 26c, and samples offered.
