A Sierra Nevada Mining Company verdict favored the plaintiff in a California dispute. Owens lake lands in Inyo county offer a 16000 acre placer site with aluminum in clay and a Robins mining district plant. Smitsonian Institute tests yield nickel copper and gold values. Calumet and Hecla copper costs per pound were about 10 1/2 cents in 1899 and 7 cents in 1897, with price rises linked to higher mining and building costs.
