Texas Cattle Trust Debate and Farmed Beef Rise
The piece argues that a cattle trust cannot reach farmed cattle, favoring farmers who can raise and feed cattle on about sixty two acre farms in Texas. It cites 250,000 Texas farms, 700,000 cows with 56,000 work oxen, and notes dairying growth. Farmers could monopolize feed and breed to produce beef on ten acres of 18 million cultivated acres, reducing reliance on range cattle and potentially earning better prices. It also covers wool shipments from Fort Benton, Chester elips, and Montana sheep deals, noting fluctuating weights and prices and upcoming mutton season.

Improving Plocks and Sheep Gains for Ranchers
The Denver Stockman notes sheepmen seek large gains by improving flocks as wool prices rise. Western ranchers consider adding small flocks to support cattle, with sheep-pasture benefits including weed control and potential boosts in cattle quality from pastures where sheep graze.

Stockmen Cite High Prices Behind Slower Texas Cattle Market
Texas cattlemen blame current high beef prices for slow sales while others argue demand and tight supply offer future profits. With land costs high and stock scarce, ranchers keep grazing and expect feeder cattle to fetch strong prices as drought and feed costs shape the market. A weather bulletin notes unsettled conditions easing with forecasts of fair, warmer days ahead.
Texas Horse Market Demand For Good Animals
San Antonio Express reports strong demand for horses and mares in the Inca market with buyers eager to purchase. Local supply is scarce as many horses offered to Government were rejected for not meeting weight and height standards, sold at a loss or sent back. Notes from the ranges include purchases of a registered Hereford bull Heed for 4769 dollars and a grade Shorthorn bull for 70 dollars, while cattle prices remain uneven as top stock is scarce and stockouts persist.

Total surface waters amount to 6 000 000 acre feet, with 5 086 000 from major rivers and 2 411 000 from small streams. Storage of spring floods in reservoirs and use of underground waters are needed to utilize this water.
