Howe Discharged After Brakeman Cleared in Shot Case
Justice Taylor discharged Brakeman Howe in Golconda after an examination found the evidence insufficient to hold him for the grand jury in the shooting of Paul Heneman. Howe testified he fired after a missile struck the train’s caboose door while hobos gathered nearby. Heneman remained in county hospital with a wound that will delay discharge.
