Spain Accepts Peace Conditions War Ends
Madrid reports Spain has accepted the United States peace terms and that no further U.S. reply is needed. The queen regent approves the government reply, and Washington expects formal completion and halted hostilities by early week. The army will be reorganized and navy vessels readied, with wounded discharged or kept for service as needed. Some forces to Cuba may be reassigned for garrison duty.
