Minnesota Fusion yields to silver delegates at convention
At Minneapolis the state Democratic convention laid out a ticket split among Democrats Populists and silver Republicans with John Lind as governor nominee. The four Democrats four Populists and one silver Republican on the electoral slate were chosen Champlin named temporary chairman. In Alabama Democrats claim a decisive victory with Johnson and full ticket winning by 40 000. Populists threaten opposition over possible fraud and rally to carry Alabama for McKinley.
