A vintage advertisement promotes Syrup of Figs as a pure liquid laxative that cleanses the system and aids the kidneys liver and bowels. It claims relief from colds headaches fevers and constipation and notes it is manufactured by the California Fig Syrup Co with bottles at 50c and 1.00.

In Weaverville California a jury hears Moses Williams accused as an accomplice to the murder of John Hart near Haytork last November. Hart named Charles Williams 18 as the killer before dying. Young Williams testified he would get dogs cash and $100 for the deed and was sentenced to life at Folsom before testifying. He lured Hart to a secluded spot and killed him.
Humboldt Lodge No. 16 announces a trial for Biss Netus, to be held at 7 p.m. The notice asks members to attend and to bring needed items. G. & Aroquer serves as secretary.
Ivanhoe Lodge No. 18 of the Knights of Pythias meets every Monday evening at 7 40 o clock in their Castle Hall located in the silver state block. Officers J. A Hill and C B Brown are listed.
