The last Legislature amended the mining law to require a locator to sink a discovery shaft within ninety days of posting notice, depth ten feet. A cut or tunnel at ten feet or an open cut equivalent to a shaft qualifies as discovery. Claim boundaries must be plainly marked by specified posts or monuments.
