Local obituary notes a resident died at home on Saturday after a period of illness and paralysis. The deceased had been in poor health for several days and was unconscious in the days leading to death.
Mrs Margretta Paulus of this place died Saturday night at about 10 o clock after a week of critical illness from paralysis following a stroke. She was past 75, widow of Henry Paulus, and had lived here for many years. Services were conducted at her home by Revs Young and Fryberger, with interment in Lake View Cemetery.
The Clibbard Printing company of Leesburg has been sold to Robert Higley and moved to Waterloo Indiana. The Leesburg plant was discontinued a year or more ago due to lack of patronage and the town is left without a printing office.
Thirteen men from Tipton Huntington Marion and Anderson were arrested at North Webster Lake for shooting ducks before sunrise. Each was fined $10 plus costs totaling $23.59, paid in each case, under Indiana law.
Mrs. Kate Wiltrout, longtime guest at the Paulos home, departed Tuesday for Bourbon to visit her daughter Mrs. Ed Wiley and family for an extended stay.
Libbie Norris broke both bones of her right arm just above the wrist after tripping on a rug at her sister Mrs Samuel Shaffer’s home last Wednesday. A physician reduced the fracture and she is progressing well.
Reverend A G Neal died last Thursday after several weeks with sleeping sickness at his War Sawv home. He served as superintendent of the Goshen District in the Northern Indiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church and was a well known figure in northern Indiana.
Rev. J. T. Ferrow a retired Methodist minister died Sunday afternoon at his home in South Whitley after a brief illness from pneumonia. He was 74.
The Silver Lake school and Lake township closed last Wednesday evening for the remainder of the week to allow teachers to attend the State Teachers Association in Indianapolis. Pupils gain a four day vacation likely to be enjoyed.
J. A. Leckrone and his family returned to Silver Lake to visit old friends, recalling his fifteen years residing there. The group included son Bryan, wife and two children, meeting locals in and around the area. Leckrone works at Remy Electric in Anderson and has invested in several rental properties and a growing bank balance.

Walter Hamman and Dean Hill formed a partnership about two weeks ago and rented a Claypool garage to sell Chevrolet cars. Hamman brings Ford sales experience while Hill offers broad mechanical expertise, signaling promising prospects for the new venture.
Mr and Mrs Everett Shipley residing northwest of Claypool welcomed an eight and a half pound daughter named Barbara Alice born last Friday. Mr Shipley is the son of Mr and Mrs C W Shipley and is well known locally.
Harry Taylor of the northwest area bought the Brandenberg farm at a Warsaw commissioners sale last Saturday. He plans to move onto the property within about a month to tend his corn crop.
John Sausaman and his wife Bertha and daughter Bertha traveled to Buchanan Michigan to visit his sister Mrs Nelson Reed and her husband. Reed has suffered paralysis for weeks and remains in a very critical condition during the weekend stay.
Sherman Rhodes and his family, who lived on the John Sansaman farm northeast of here for the past year, moved Monday to a new farm near Laketon.
Harry Smalley of Burket has purchased the Claypool railroad restaurant and took charge this week. The dining spot had been run by A. Oluen for some time.
Henry A Harnhart of Rochester a former congressman from Indiana thirteenth district married at the bride s home last Thursday to Mrs Alwildi Dillon of Rochester.
Joe McKown reports his Chicago orchestra remains at a theatre for a couple more weeks. He notes the group is performing well and the orchestra members are developing acting skills as they move toward broader stage work. The record goes to Mr McKown weekly.
Miss Katheryn Marie Carr celebrated her eighth birthday with a party at her home north of town on Tuesday evening. Guests included Eloise Bouse Eldora Haney Katherine Herendeen Helen Meinert and Gladys Carr. The evening featured a mix of games and contests and Katheryn received pretty birthday gifts.
A notice reports Henry Ayers wed a young Evansville, Indiana woman on September 14 in Leisburg Tennessee. Ayers, a Silver Lake native, has long traveled with carnival troupes and now runs a tenris wheel with O. N. Naill's Shows. He is brother to John and George Ayres.
Mr and Mrs Delbert Kerlin returned home last Sunday afternoon from their wedding trip and are settling in their new home in the northeast part of town.
Mr and Mrs Charles Shipley Mr and Mrs William Shipley Mrs Susie Jamison Mrs Mollie Beigh and Mrs Maude Downing prominent Claypool residents were among those from a distance who attended the Mrs Paulus funeral here Monday afternoon.
Mrs Chloe Glaser returns to New York after visiting Silver Lake with her parents Mr and Mrs Jacob Raney for several weeks. They met Mr Glaser in Cleveland but he could not proceed to Silver Lake.
Irvin Parker announces a public sale at his northwest location on Thursday November 1 featuring a choice lot of live stock to be offered in the ring. Large sale bills will be posted to notify the event.
A series of revival meetings started Sunday evening at the Church of the Brethren two miles east of Silver Lake. The services are led by Hitler George Misnler near South Whitley and have drawn large crowds so far.
Irvin Waynes and his wife, residents of Battle Creek, Michigan, have been visiting relatives here for several days. They have operated a local grocery store for several months and are said to be getting along very nicely.
Miss Effie Leonard of Warsaw visited the Leonard Raber home Monday and attended the funeral of Mrs. Paulus.
Mrs J D Sickles and Mrs Ernest Werner of Warsaw attended the funeral of Mrs Paulus in town on Monday.
Dr. and Mrs. J. O. Hay visited Goshen Monday to see their son Dr. E. L. Hay and wife and attend the local dentists meeting.
A large crowd gathered at the VU B Church Monday evening to hear Rev. Gaddy speak about the Ku Klux Klan. The audience filled the church as he explained the Klan's purpose.
Ralph Shepherd of near Sidney harvested sixteen potatoes from his patch weighing a total twenty pounds. The note asks who can beat that record.

Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Ladd returned to their Detroit home after traveling to Michigan this week. They came to care for the serious illness of Roscoe Ladd’s grandmother Mrs. Margaret Paulus in Detroit.
Mr and Mrs Jack Anthony plan a short residence in Kokomo Mrs Anthony formerly Miss Gladys Haney and they wed several weeks ago an announcement appeared in our prior REC ORD issue.
Union revival meetings concluded Sunday night with full churches during the three week series. Each service drew large congregations and steady attendance throughout the campaign led by local pastors and volunteers.
The U B church was crowded to capacity as Rev Gaddy closed three weeks of evangelistic meetings last Sunday night. Scores were turned away while he preached on sin ner blackslider and hypocrite with clear logic and inspiring sermons.
Mrs Allie Scoles traveled to Chicago on Thursday of last week to reside during the winter at the home of Mr and Mrs John Hampel.
Mr and Mrs J D Cline moved to Warsaw on Monday to spend most of the winter there. He is an instructor at the Warsaw high school and chose residence there for the season rather than remaining elsewhere.
Mrs A D Hamman will hold a public sale at her home north of town and will reside with her children Wilford and Harvey and Mrs Samuel Hash and their families in Elkhart most of the time while also visiting other relatives.
Roy Sloane of Palestine was assaulted by Lee Sarber on his property after objecting to trespassing while placing a sign. Ephraim Altenburg witnessed the incident. an affidavit charging Sarber with assault and battery was filed in Warsaw. The case will not be heard by Mayor John A. Sloane, aki s related to the plaintiff.
Clay township Sunday School Convention will be held in Claypool on Sunday October 21 with an excellent program prepared for the occasion.
